The Author Acharya Mahaprajna was a philosopher and spiritual guru of the Jain Swetambar Terapanth community. Initiated at the age of ten, Acharya learned the practice of non-violence and restraint. In order to develop equanimity which, he said, is the precursor to the practice of non-violence, he developed a system of meditation called Preksha Dhyan: to look within and calm oneself to a state of peace and feeling of amity towards one and all. He led the Anuvrat movement initiated by his guru to build moral values in each individual and society as a whole and walked the entire breadth and length of India with this message. A writer and scholar proficient in Sanskrit, Hindi, Prakrit, and Rajasthani, Acharya Mahaprajna wrote more than 200 books in all genres of writing; fiction, prose, poetry, and philosophy.
