About the Author

The author Haemin Sunim is a Buddhist monk. Born in Korea and educated in the United States, he moved to the United States to study film at UC Berkeley(USA) , only to find himself pulled into religious studies while pursuing his master’s and doctorate degrees at Harvard and Princeton.

He is the first Korean monk to teach religion at a US college, having been on the faculty of Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts. He divides his time between New York and South Korea.
